Library of Parliament Seminar

In 2005 CFBS formed a partnership with the Library of Parliament to develop a series of Life Science seminars. These seminars were designed to provide information that could be of interest to parliamentarians when considering new legislation. The lectures in this series have included:
  1. Dr. Allison McGeer, Director, Infection Control, Mt Saini Hospital, Toronto who spoke on Protecting Canadians from Foreign Infectious Agents;

  2. Dr. Ted Sargent, Canada Research Chair Nanotecnology, University of Toronto who presented " The Dance of the Molecules:Nanotechnology is Choreography", and

  3. On March 23, 2007 Dr. Norman Huner, Canada Research Chair & Director Biodrome Project, University of Western Ontario, London, presented the third lecture in this Life Sciences Series entitled "The Biodrome Project and Climate Change" .

These seminars took place in the West Block of the Parliament Buildings and were open to parliamentarians and their staff.
