The Gordin Kaplan Award commemorates the contributions made to public awareness of science by the Late Gordin Kaplan. Canada’s Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies, previously known as "PMAC" has sponsored the Gordin Kaplan Award since 1990.
CFBS created the Science Advocacy Award in 1999 to be given on annual basis to qualified individual(s) who represent riding(s) at or close to the site of the annual CFBS Meeting. The Award will be presented at the CFBS Annual Meeting.
The Excellence Award was created by The Canadian Federation of Biological Societies in 1999 to recognize those individuals who have made contribution and demonstrated meritorious service to the Canadian Federation of Biological Societies.
As a tribute to the late Dr. Brown, first president of the Medical Research Council, a group of his family and friends established the G. Malcolm Brown Memorial Fund. The income from which will be used for the advancement of research in the health sciences in Canada.  
CFBS has created in 2003 the CFBS’ Presidents Award in honour of all CFBS Presidents.
