Old Questions

Dear Exhibitor,
We are pleased to announce the 6th Northern Lights Summer Conference
that will be hosted at the University of Manitoba – Fort
Garry Campus, June 17 – 20, 2008. This is the 52nd Scientific
Conference of the Canadian Federation of Biological Societies (CFBS).
The Scientific
Program discusses a multidiscipline theme: “Biology
of Aging - New Answers to Old Questions”. The2008 Program
is organized by Dr. Phillip Gardiner, Director, HLHP Research Institute,
and Canada Research Chair in Physical Activity & Health Studies, University
of Manitoba, Winnipeg, MB. The Scientific Exhibits will be held on Wednesday
& Thursday, June 18 & 19, 2008.
I am pleased to invite you to participate as an exhibitor at the 6th
Northern Lights Summer Conference. The exhibits form an integral part
of the educational experience for the delegates, and provide a mutually
beneficial opportunity to showcase your products and interact with the
researchers. The exhibitor fees are used to help finance the symposia
and together with your displays are valued contributions to a successful
conference. We will insert your company logo in the Program & Proceedings
Book and Meeting Folder. We will post one paragraph (provided by you)
describing your company or product information and create a link to your
website on the conference website. This is a good way to educate the delegates
about the companies participating in the exhibits and provide you with
extra exposure.
The expected attendance for the conference is 400-500 research scientists
from across Canada and abroad. The multidiscipline symposia will highlight
a number of international speakers. Please refer to the detailed program
information.
Theme: Biology of Aging - New Answers to Old Questions
- Nutrition as a determinant of successful aging
- Muscles: from molecules to mobility
- Dilemmas of drug therapy in the elderly
- The role of oxidative stress in the decline of aged muscle
- Neuromuscular function and resistance training in older adults - From
laboratory research to clinical implications
- Calpain: A molecular monkey wrench involved in aging and cell death
mechanisms
- Cardiovascular System and Ageing: Exercise Blood Flow
- The AAA Alarm: Antioxidants, Atherosclerosis and Aging
- Biology of Alzheimer and Dementia
In addition to the symposia, there will be daily poster sessions. Participating
exhibitors are encouraged to invite their customers, laboratory supervisors
and staff, to the exhibits area while the scientific sessions are being
held. This maximizes the usage of your time while exhibiting at the CFBS
conference. Please check the exhibit guidelines page for time and date,
no tickets are required to attend the trade show.
The exhibits will be hosted together with the poster sessions and Am
& Pm coffee breaks & receptions, to which the exhibitors will
have free access. We encourage you to take advantage of the early registration
discount fees, other services and marketing opportunities that CFBS offers
which are listed on the Reservation
Form. Further information about the exhibits, CFBS, its constituent
societies, the annual meeting, and online forms are available on the CFBS
web site www.cfbs.org.
Please contact me if you need additional information, or have any suggestions,
questions, or alternative requirements.
