Dear Exhibitor,
We are pleased to announce the 5th Northern Lights Summer Conference
that will be hosted at the University of Waterloo from June 20 –
22, 2007. This is the 51st Scientific Conference of the Canadian Federation
of Biological Societies (CFBS). The scientific program discusses two themes
1) Nano Structures & their Biomedical Applications 2). Metabolomics,
Technologies & Applications. The Scientific Exhibits will be held
on Wednesday & Thursday, June 20 & 21, 2007. The Nano Structure
theme is to follow the Nanoforum meeting organized by NRC & NSERC
which will conclude mid day through Wednesday, June 20, 2007. Delegates
from the Nanoforum will be given free access and will be encouraged to
come and visit the Exhibits.
I am pleased to invite you to participate as an exhibitor at the 5th
Northern Lights Summer Conference. The exhibits form an integral part
of the educational experience for the delegates, and provide a mutually
beneficial opportunity to showcase your products and interact with the
researchers. The exhibitor fees are used to help finance the symposia
and together with your displays are valued contributions to a successful
conference. We will insert your company logo in the Program & Proceedings
Book and Meeting Folder. We will post one paragraph (provided by you)
describing your company or product information and create a link to your
website on the conference website. This is a good way to educate the delegates
about the companies participating in the exhibits and provide you with
extra exposure.
The expected attendance for the conference is 350-500 research scientists
from across Canada and abroad. The symposia will highlight a number of
international speakers.
Theme I: Nanomedicine: Nanostructures & their Biomedical
Applications
(Wednesday & Thursday , June 20 & 21, 2007)
- Targeted Nano Delivery Systems (drug delivery/gene therapy)
- Diagnostics and Imaging Applications
- Nanotoxicology and Potential Health Effects
Theme II : Metabolomics, Technologies & Applications
(Thursday & Friday, June 21 & 22, 2007)
- Human Metabolomics
- Metabolomics Technologies - Hardware & Software
- Metabolomics in Other Systems
In addition to the symposia, there will be daily poster sessions. The
focus of the conference provides a particularly suitable audience for
pharmaceutical & supply product companies’ displays. The LOC
is planning to hold a trade show in conjunction with the meeting. We see
this a chance for exhibitors to host laboratory supervisors and staff
for an afternoon while the scientific sessions are being held. This captalizes
on the close proximity of severval universties and research institutes.
Participating exhibitors are encouraged to invite laboratory supervisors
and staff to the exhibits area while the scientific sessions are being
held. Please check our website for time and date, no tickets are required
to attend the trade show.
The exhibits will be hosted together with the poster sessions and food
services. We encourage you to take advantage of the early registration
discount fees, other services and marketing opportunities that CFBS offers
which are listed on the reservation form. Further information about the
exhibits, CFBS, its constituent societies, the annual meeting, and online
forms can be accessed from the CFBS web site (www.cfbs.org). Please contact
me if you need additional information, or have any suggestions, questions,
or alternative requirements.
Yours truly,
Mrs. Wafaa H. Antonious,
