We would like to invite you to attend the “Third Northern Lights Conference” at the University of Saskatchewan, June 13-16, 2006. This year’s meeting will be held at the home of the Canadian Light Source; hence, we are planning the conference in conjunction with the 2006 Canadian Light Source Annual Users’ Meeting.

The Theme for the 2006 Meeting is “Shining Light on Biological Processes”. The topics covered will be of interest to anyone interested in visualizing structure (whether in the life sciences area or in the materials sciences area) and in visualizing function.

The following symposia have been planned:

  1. Multiphoton Microscopy,
  2. Analytical Micro-Imaging,
  3. Synchrotron Approaches to Cancer Research,
  4. Protein Crystallography,
  5. Molecular Form & Function: Probing Metals in Intact Tissues Using Synchrotron Light,
  6. New Instrumentation for Soft X-Ray Photon-In-Photon-Out Spectroscopy.
All speakers for the first three symposia are confirmed. Two Keynote speakers have been identified:
  1. Christoph Sensen, University of Calgary, who will speak on presentation of data in 3 dimensions.
  2. Rob Lewis, University of Monash, Australia, who will speak on synchrotron approaches in x-ray imaging.
An outline of the program is on the CFBS Annual Meeting website Program Page.

Please come and join us. Saskatoon in the summer is a delight. The University of Saskatchewan campus is one of the most beautiful in the country.
